Your Photographer

Karen's breadth of experience is rounded out by working in digital media for brands, artists and events. With a strong performing arts background, she understands how to direct models with movement and emotion. Her strongest mentors on her editing and shooting style are Jvdas Berra, Tyler Mitchell and Annie Leibovitz. As the official photographer and videographer for Awakened Priestess, she carefully captures her Sisters at events.

Symbolism

Concepts are based off each woman's personality and what they are the most comfortable with. Organic and symbolic elements are added as props. An example:

“Mujer Piscis”
Titled after the model’s astrological birth chart. The model has Pisces as their sun sign in their astrological chart and is Columbian. Pisces is a mutable water sign, hence the strong water theme with elements of blue and blush pink.
Picture
Inspiration: Yemoja (Yoruban) is a major water spirit linked to feminine mysteries.

Symbolic Elements:
Seashells
are usually perceived as feminine; a symbol of birth, good fortune and resurrection. Shells are a very special magickal material—a beautiful gift of Earth and Sea. Shells are found in the secret space between these two kingdoms, which is revealed only during the change of tides. They are treasures from an invisible world.
Naturally, shells are often used on the Pagan altar to represent the element of Water. Shells also correspond to Venus (the planet and the deity) and to the Moon, who gently tosses them ashore every tidal cycle. For millennia, shells have been a symbol of feminine beauty. Their white-pink colors recall the blush of a fair complexion, and some shells resemble the female breasts or vulva.
